In Memory of Christopher J. Flores
This bridge is dedicated to Christopher, whose life and memory inspired the creation of this gentle place along the river.
Though someone we love may leave this physical life, the connection they created within us does not simply disappear. Love leaves something behind – memories, moments, lessons, and a presence that continues to travel with us in ways we may not always be able to explain.
Christopher’s bridge stands here as a reminder that although physical life may separate us from someone we love, the connection created by love continues beyond what we can see.
Every Drop Remains Part of the River
A river is formed one drop at a time. Each drop becomes part of something greater, joining with countless others as the water continues its journey. Perhaps our lives are much the same.
As we travel down the river of life, we become connected to other souls – our family, our friends, those we love deeply, and even those who enter our lives only briefly yet somehow leave a lasting impression upon our hearts.
Each becomes a drop within our river. And when someone we love leaves this physical life, perhaps we do not have to think of them as having left the river. Their presence may have changed, but the love, memories, and connection they gave us remain woven into the waters of our lives.
No drop that has become part of our river is ever truly left behind. The river continues to flow, carrying every love, every memory, and every soul that has touched its waters.
The river remembers every drop. And love remembers every soul.
When the River Feels Heavy
Grief does not follow a schedule, and there is no place along this river where you are expected to simply “get over” the loss of someone you love.
Some days the water may feel calm. Other days, a photograph, a song, a familiar place, or a memory may suddenly bring the current rushing back. That does not mean you are moving backwards. It simply means that love still lives within you.
Continuing your journey does not mean leaving them behind.
You are allowed to carry their memory with you. You are allowed to speak their name, laugh at the moments you shared, cry when you miss them, and feel their love in whatever way brings comfort to your heart.
Perhaps healing is not about learning how to live without them. Perhaps it is about slowly discovering how to continue living with the love they left within you.
And when the river becomes to heavy, you do not have to force yourself downstream. Rest awhile. Sit beside the water. Remember. Cry. Be still.
The river will wait for you. And when you are ready, even if all you can manage is one small movement forward, the gentle flow will carry you again.

The Gentle Flow
In Memory of Christopher
Love Never Leaves
Names Along the River
A place of remembrance for those we love who have transcended this physical life. Their love, their light, and the lives they touched continue to flow with us.
Here, their names will never be forgotten.
