Names Along the River

Their Names Flow With Us

Every life becomes part of the river. Though someone we love may leave this physical world, the love they gave, the memories they created, and the lives they touched continue to flow with us.

This is a place to speak their names, remember their lives, and honor the love that remains.

How Names Along the River Began

I never knew Christopher J. Flores personally. Our paths never crossed in this physical life. I came to know of him through his mother, Tracy.

Tracy shared something with me that stayed in my heart. She wrote, since losing her son, one of the painful parts of her grief was feeling as though no one would mention his name anymore. Simply hearing someone else say his name meant more to her than I realized.

Her words stopped me.

I began thinking about how many people must carry that same quiet ache. How many mothers, fathers, partners, siblings, family members and friends still want to hear the name of someone they love, spoken aloud. A person does not disappear from our story because their physical life has ended.

And that is how Names Along the River began.

I wanted to create a place where their names could still be spoken. A place where photographs, memories, and stories could remain part of the river. A place where someone could say, “This person was here. They were loved. They mattered. And I still carry them with me.”

Christopher became the first name placed here – not because his life mattered more than another, but because the love between a mother and her son opened this path for everyone who would come after him.

A Quiet Moment by the River

Christopher’s mother, Tracy, took this photograph during a quiet weekend beside the water. A peaceful moment to share.

Christopher was quiet and kept to himself, but when he was around, we always felt his love – in his own way, in his own time. He had a gentle soul and a heart of gold. And even in silence, his presence spoke volumes. He had a love for animals and pursued his dreams by becoming a dog trainer. His absence has left an emptiness that cannot be filled and I will continue to carry him with me for eternity. I will meet you at the river my son. FE24
